
First Aid Course
Learn the essential skills and knowledge to respond confidently and effectively in emergency situations. Delivered by experienced trainers, this course equips you to provide immediate first aid in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, workplace, legal, and community standards.
We offer training across Victoria, including the Mornington Peninsula, Horsham, Mildura, and Wagga Wagga, making it convenient for you to access high-quality instruction near you.
What You’ll Learn This course teaches:
Recognising and responding to emergencies.
Assessing casualties and providing immediate first aid.
Using resources like CPR techniques, defibrillators, and autoinjectors for anaphylaxis.
Assisting with asthma, choking, fractures, dislocations, sprains, strains, and envenomation.
Managing casualties with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock.
Understanding basic anatomy and physiology for adults, children, and infants.
Completing written and verbal incident reports.
Recognising psychological impacts and seeking help as needed.

Your certificate will include the following nationally recognized units:
HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid
HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
HLTAID010 - Provide Basic Emergency Life Support

Course durations vary depending on delivery method. The minimum times are:
Refresher (Face-to-Face): 6 hours
Blended Delivery (Face-to-Face): 6 hours
Face-to-Face Full Course: 7 hours 30 minutes
Online with Face-to-Face Assessment: 1 hour

To participate, students must:
Have the physical capacity to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor and rescue breathing techniques on manikins.
For online study, have access to an electronic device with internet connectivity to complete pre-course work.

This certificate is valid for 36 months. Renewal is recommended every three years to maintain currency.

Performance Tasks & Practical Scenarios:
Perform CPR on an adult (including AED use and recovery position).
Complete a first aid incident report based on a simulated scenario.
Perform CPR on an infant.
Manage casualties with:
Anaphylaxis
Asthma
Choking
Non-life-threatening bleeding and shock (including minor wound cleaning).
Nosebleeds
Fractures and dislocations
Sprains and strains
Envenomation (e.g., snake or spider bite).
Theory Assessment:
A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions.
